I Love Coffee, Do You? 6

So I was thinking recently (probably while I was drinking a coffee) about how much I enjoy coffee and not just the drink itself. I mean everything about it, the smell, the flavor, the feel of the cup in my hand…and it got me thinking of other people. So here’s what i want to say…I love coffee, do you?
Trend or fads, by definition, come and go with the seasons. It’s possible to tell whether it’s summer of 2016 by looking at what style shoes people are wearing. A different style will indicate a different season.  Clothes, shoes, food, drink, TV shows, toys…..you name it and you can see everything has a certain trend of the moment.
So what about accessories?  Look at people’s hands. What are they carrying?  I know when I’m out and about I see people carrying coffee cups everywhere I go.
Coffee has arguably become one of the most enduring accessories of our time. A “style” that, in the same way as other trends, makes a strong statement. But what does it say? What do you want it to say?i love coffee
I’m tired and had a bad night!
I’m addicted to my morning coffee?
I want to look like everybody else!
I am young and trendy so I drink from _____ coffee shop!
I love coffee!

I Love Coffee!

This is why I carry my coffee with me! Okay so maybe sometimes I’m tired and have had a bad night, I do have young kids after all (there is always an excuse!). Am I addicted?  I might be but I don’t think so. I don’t want to look like everybody else. I really don’t care whether I look trendy anymore, I am passed that stage thank goodness!
I do love my coffee. The cup I carry becomes an expansion of myself. It indicates aesthetics and the flavors I enjoy as much as my handbag(s), shoes or what watch I wear.
What do people see when they look at me carrying my coffee? Do they wonder if I am a cappuccino, latte, flat white drinker? I know I look at others and it does cross my mind to wonder what style coffee they are having, why is that?
Is it because you can tell a lot about a person by what coffee they drink? What type of coffee do you drink? do you think that says something about who you are?
Coffee Lifestyle

Is Coffee a Lifestyle?

Coffee is a fashionable beverage, of that I have no doubt.  Fashion and coffee have amalgamated. This is evident when you see that stores have now got coffee shops incorporated into them. This is a modern trend. The connection between personal style and what coffee you drink is a strong one. Is this a lifestyle ideal?

Almost every other Instagram post has been invaded by coffee. Over 1 million Instagram photos labeled #latteart and almost 3 million more labeled #latte. It has become the norm to drink coffee while at the same time Instagram yourself drinking it!
In all its variations, coffee presents us with the chance for building a perfect picture of our own lives. And as with our other properties, we are all too ready to share that picture online.
Coffee has fluctuated over time as a status symbol. From its heyday as a beverage of the 18th century european elite into a mass produced thing in supermarkets in the 90’s. Flash forward a decade and you can see Indie coffee houses outnumber Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts in NYC by two to one. This is all thanks to an artisan coffee movement and younger coffee drinkers!
A growing landscape of coffee drinkers has meant more choices and therefore more great opportunities to present discernment, taste and aesthetics. Taking a Starbucks cup indicates one form of status. Taking a tiny espresso-to-go signals another.
Whatever your reasons for drinking coffee, the trend is not going away anytime soon. Coffee has become as much part of our culture (the 21st century developed world culture) as the internet. It is here to stay. I for one am very grateful for this…did I mention that I love coffee!

Hi Jennie. I totally agree with you. Drinking coffee is a trend that will never fade!
I myself is a HUGE coffee lover in contrast with my wife who drags me away from a coffee shop when we visit our famous mall.
I cannot resist the true aroma of when coffee passing by a coffee shop.
The 1st thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to have a cup of my favorite coffee brand!
It is part of my lifestyle and surely to many of us around the world!
Let’s drink coffee and be happy!
    Cheers, Jacob

I’m addicted too! There are many varieties and variations of coffee flavors to choose. I find myself drinking almost a pot when I’m off work. I would love to try another brand or another flavor. My wife loves Folgers, but after many years of patronizing this brand, I am bored with the taste. I would like to know what brand you would recommend?

    I’m a fellow coffee lover!

I’ve been drinking coffee for more than 30 years. I don’t know if I like the taste as much as you because I struggle to drink it black. It’s the caffeine that I want.

I had a coworker remark that I should try tea because it has a lot of caffeine in it. I responded, “But it doesn’t have enough coffee in it!”

Seriously though there are a number of benefits to caffeine from improving memory to detoxing the liver. Do a web search for “caffeine benefits” and check it out!

I LOVE coffee too! The city I live in is known for its cafe culture and it’s great being able to go sit in a cool place and drink good coffee, but that’s not what my love of coffee is about. I just love it. Yes I’m probably addicted, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that – there are far worse addictions to have!
